Run for Green Tourism: Bokor Mountain Obstacle Trail Race Set for October 4, 2026

← Home

Kampot is getting a new reason to visit in early October: Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, the Kampot Provincial Administration, and Sokha Hotels & Resorts are putting on “Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain,” an obstacle trail race up Preah Monivong Bokor National Park on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Registration is open now.

Race Details

The race starts at 6:00am in front of Le Bokor Palace Hotel, with four categories to choose from:

  • 25km obstacle trail
  • 12km obstacle trail
  • 5km obstacle trail
  • 3km non-competitive walking trail (free to enter)

All participants get a T-shirt, water, and snacks along the route. The first 500 people to register for the 3km walk get a free T-shirt as well.

How to Register

Registration runs now through September 30, 2026, via QR code (available through the organizers’ official channels). Runners who register can pick up their race T-shirts on October 2-3, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, at the Tourist Information Centre near the Old Bridge Head in Kampot town.

What This Means for Travelers

If you’re planning to be in Kampot around October 2-4, expect a livelier-than-usual weekend in town and extra traffic on the Bokor road on race morning — worth building in some flexibility if you’re headed up the mountain for sightseeing rather than the race itself.
